Prophetic Word
The Lord says that even as His heart is overflowing with generous love, with generous forgiveness, with generous mercy, so also is He raising up a people who manifest His very nature of generosity. A company of believers will be raised up who will lavish others with all that God has graced them with and as they do, enormous blessings will fill their lives as a result. The Lord says, “The heavens will open over the generous heart and pour out the dew of heaven upon them, drenching them with blessings beyond what they can imagine or think.”
Devotional Teaching
I have always been blessed by watching the generous soul selflessly pour out goodness upon others. It so reflects the nature of God who lavished us with love through sending His Son Jesus Christ, forgiving us of all our sins and inviting us to spend eternity with Him as His own sons and daughters. Behold what manner of love is this? It is amazing, outrageous, generous, love!
I have personally discovered that acts of generosity carry such reward. I love giving and every time I have opportunity to bless someone it fills my life with such joy…but then, following acts of generosity I have discovered even further rewards of increase, multiplication of good things, favor, and accelerated revelation of God’s heart. My life has always expanded in goodness through generosity. God’s nature is to give…this is what love does. If I am to be like God, then His generous nature will fill me.
Here are some promises from scripture that will bless you:
Proverbs 11:25
The generous man will be prosperous.
And He who waters will himself be watered.
Proverbs 19:6
Many will seek the favor of a generous man,
And every man is a friend to him who gives gifts.
Proverbs 22:9
He who is generous will be blessed,
For he gives some of his food to the poor.
I have been blessed by observing a generous heart in my grandson. When he was around five years of age, he wanted to package up his favorite toys and give them to children who did not have toys. At ten years of age, he watched me get ready for a trip to Cambodia and he ran up to his room and brought me $20 out of his piggy bank (he had been saving it for a long time) and said, “Grandma, please give this to the poor children”. About a week later he texted me and said, “Grandma, I am going to help you all your life to give you money to help the poor.” Wow, you can imagine what that did to my heart. It was totally unsolicited. He has a generous heart, therefore I know without a doubt that he will grow to be prosperous, favored and blessed. The Bible says so!
I have observed the generous heart and I have observed the withholding heart and there is no comparison. God blesses the generous heart but the withholding heart is never satisfied. There is great power in generosity, not only for the personal benefit but for all who see the generous soul, they are seeing a reflection of God.
I invite you to live a life of generosity. Review the promises and then… go for it…for the rest of your lives. Live in His fullness!
